Black Friday is the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States (the fourth Thursday of November). Since 1952, it has been regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in the U.S., and most major retailers open very early (and more recently during overnight hours) and offer promotional sales.

Happy Thanksgiving

Bonfire Night - 5th of November

Every 5th of November people in Britain go out and celebrate Bonfire Night. What is that?
In 1605, a man called Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament (important government buildings in the UK) by using gun powder (the substance found in guns and fireworks) in order to kill King James. This is known as the gunpowder plot. Fawkes was caught and arrested, and later burned alive as punishment for his crime.
Every year in England they commemorate this event (Bonfire Night or Guy Fawkes Night) and they celebrate the fact that Fawkes was stopped, not that he wanted to kill the King in the first place!. They celebrate by letting off fireworks and building bonfires. They also make guys, which are models of a man made of clothes and stuffed with newspaper, and throw them onto the bonfires to symbolise the burning of Guy Fawkes.

Halloween- - 31st of October

Halloween is celebrated on 31st October. This isn’t a public holiday in Britain. Halloween is the night before the Catholic festival of All Saints and the pagan Celtic festival of Samhain (1st November).
